Making yoga and mindfulness fun for kids
This 45 min class is everything parents could hope for in an after school activity… a wonderful, creative outlet for imaginative minds, non-competitive physical fitness and a safe place to develop great social skills. Children get the tools to build, develop, and maintain a healthy body and happy mind.
Kids today lead busy and exciting lives… it is not only important to make sure that they are getting lots of physical activity and learning new things, but also to help them develop positive coping mechanisms that they are able to apply to situations in their daily lives.
Classes will be be fused with music and play with the last 10-15 minutes focused on age appropriate meditation, breathing and relaxation techniques that children can use at home, at school, or anywhere when they are feeling overwhelmed, angry, upset, or stressed. Our teachers are great mentors for the children and encourage the kids to feel safe at yoga. We are always here to support them through their development!
What to wear:
Clothes they can move in comfortably being mindful of zips and anything that could cause harm. Girls with leggings or tracksuit pants recommended instead of skirts. (or leggings under skirts) Remove any sharp hair pins etc.. Bring a drink bottle.
Please let us know of any past injuries or specifics that help us to understand your child. eg: Very shy etc..
